Around The County Project

Just like the Marines, the Anoka County Historical Society

is looking for a few good representatives from each of Anoka

County's 21 cities and townships to serve on the Around the County

project.

This project identifies a representative from the Historical Society

in each community.  These representatives are links to the community's

history in an ongoing project. Community representatives are responsible

for bringing in the newest map put out by a community, taking a photo

of the new building on the corner, or bringing to attention historic resources

in their areas.

"Anoka's a big county," said Marion Schulz, a member of the Anoka

County Historical Society Board of Directors.  "We need help gathering

history from all over the county.  These people can do that."

Meetings are held about once a month and no prior experience is necessary.  All training is provided by the Historical Society and direction is given for projects to gather history.  There is no limit on how many representatives may be in each community, so there is room for anyone interested in history.

If you would like to be a representative, please call the History Center at 763-421-0600 or email maria@ac-hs.org

for more information.
