WPA – 1937 Anoka County Cemetery Survey…

 

On December 24, 1904, C.W. Peterson of Linwood deeded one acre of his land to the Swedish Mission Church of Coon Lake for a cemetery. The cemetery is situated on a hill in section twenty, Linwood Township , overlooking Coon Lake . The cemetery was named Victor Hill Cemetery in honor of Mr. Peterson’s father and its location. Burials are limited to adherents of the Swedish Mission Church .

 

The cemetery contains many fine stones and is well kept. One veteran is buried here, Lundberg, Albin R., 125th Inf., 32nd Div., Co. M., Pvt. 1st Class.  Other prominent church members are buried here: Joseph Ekenstein, 1847-1931; Oscar Gardeen, 1863-1916; C.S. Peterson, 1866-1921, Jennie Peterson, 1885-1918; Martha Fingal, 1837-1911.
